NO JUDGEMENT
AN LGBT VIRTUAL TOWN BECOMING REALITY
About Us: What's behind the No Judgement Project The NoJudgement town project is the brainchild of three members of the board of directors of the "Laura Amato Transgender Foundation", a non-profit organization now being formed. They run Laura's Playground a Transgender support and suicide prevention web site that has saved thousands of Transgender lives. The Foundation was formed to address the personal needs of Transgender people who have a 50% suicide attempt rate by their 20th birthday and a 70% unemployment rate. The planned town will be fully integrated from all walks of life. It will however be LGBT friendly and will have protections built into the town charter. The foundation plans to base it's operations there as well as build health care and job training facilities. As we are in the planning stages All LGBT, Gay Lesbian, Bi-sexual and Transgender Organizations and persons will be asked for their input and ideas. The only exception would be HRC the Human Rights Campaign who would be excluded based on their abhorrence to including Transgender people in legislation to protect us. All other LGB organizations continue to support us and are welcome. This town is not a new concept as there are other LGBT friendly towns and cities like Northampton, Provincetown and San Francisco to name just a few. They have learned to tap into LGBT untapped economic potential worth 680 Billion Dollars. These are fully integrated towns as ours would be. For some, especially Transgenders it would be transitory like a college town. They would come out as themselves and get carreer training that would aid their transition and Real life experience. If economics and job creation are made a priority the town would be attractive enough for permanent residents. NoJudegement planning will take place here as a virtual town that will become reality. Here you will see plans, laws, institutions, photos, businesses and town layout take shape. So be sure to check back often to see what is happening as new content will be added constantly. As with any new venture it will not happen overnight. Please share your vision of what this town can be and what it should not be in the forums. We are presently in the land aquisiton phase 1. It is estimated that after basic services are set in place that construction would begin in less than 5 years. Low income housing and job training would have priority. As the Foundation grows we hope to give Transgender people a good start to becoming themselves. We hope that LGB organizations will do the same.
